About the event

Legends began in 2017 as a one-day masters competition with 36 athletes, founded by Joe Linton and Bob Jennings, and grew into one of the main masters-only events; its December Legends Championship is held at Arizona State University in Tempe. For 2026 Legends added an in-person CrossFit Semifinal at Del Mar Arena, listed by CrossFit as the Legends Championship and billed by the organiser as Legends Del Mar. It was the only Semifinal of the season to combine an Elite Individual field with a full masters programme from 35-39 to 70+. Elite athletes faced five events over three days, masters four or five depending on age group.
