Three ways to Miami

Whatever the division, the first step is the OCQ: every athlete, invited ones included, completes it with scores and videos.

  1. 01

    Qualify

Finish the OCQ above your division's cut line. Each division has its own places (below, under Divisions).

  2. 02

    Open Registration

If you completed the OCQ (every score and video) and missed the cut, or did the modified version. Opens on 14 December, first come, first served.

  3. 03

    Invitation

For Elite Individual, Elite Teams and the winners of Wodapalooza SoCal and Mexico. They begin on 2 December.

How the OCQ works

One window, one set of workouts. Each athlete does the five workouts once, as an individual, and that score counts for every category they registered for: Individual, Pairs or Teams of Three. A pair's or team's score is the sum of its members', who do not need to train together.

Each registration needs its own email address, so going individual and as a team takes two. Anyone who qualifies in more than one category picks one for Miami. Miami is scored differently: 100 points for the winner of each workout, 95 for second, 90 for third, adjusted to field size, and the highest total wins. There is no scaling on site.

To be confirmed (Athlete Handbook)

Wodapalooza began in 2012 with 145 athletes and 500 spectators. It has run over four days since 2017, became a CrossFit-sanctioned event in 2019 (when The Gauntlet debuted) and moved from Bayfront Park to Miami Beach in 2025. Around the competition there is a brand expo, community workouts, seminars, Olympic lifting with USA Weightlifting and The Gauntlet, a three-part hybrid test.

Frequently asked questions

When and where is Wodapalooza 2027?

On 11–14 March 2027 at 801 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, United States, right on the beach.

How do I qualify for Wodapalooza Miami Beach?

There are three ways: finish above your division's cut line in the OCQ, enter through the Open Registration (if you completed the OCQ but missed the cut) or be invited. Everyone, invited athletes included, does the OCQ and pays the registration fee.

When is the Wodapalooza 2027 OCQ?

Week 1 (workouts 1–3) is released on Thursday 5 November 2026, with scores due on Monday 9 November at 8:00 PM ET, when registration also closes. Week 2 (workouts 4–5) is released on Thursday 12 November, due Monday 16 November at 8:00 PM ET. Videos are due by Tuesday 17 November at 8:00 PM ET.

What is new in the 2027 OCQ?

One window and one set of workouts for everyone. Each athlete does them once, as an individual, and that score counts for Individual, Pairs and Teams of Three; a pair's or team's score is the sum of its members'. Pairs no longer have a general registration: they qualify through the OCQ too.

How much do the OCQ and the Miami registration cost?

The OCQ costs $20 individual, $40 per pair and $60 per team of three, plus service fees. The Miami registration is $419 for Elite Individual, $1,199 for an Elite team, $399 for Community Individual, $779 per pair and $1,099 per team, plus fees. There are no refunds.

Can I compete in more than one division in Miami?

Community athletes who qualify in more than one must choose one. Elite athletes may compete in both Elite Individual and Elite Team of Three, as their competition days do not overlap.

Which age counts for Teens and Masters?

Your age on 1 March 2027, in whole years. The minimum age is 13. In Masters Pairs both are 35+ with a combined 80 or more; in Masters Teams all three are 35+ with a combined 125 or more.

How much prize money is there in 2027?

It is not published yet: the rulebook says the allocation will be announced before the event in the Athlete Handbook. The total purse was $567,000 in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
