World Fitness Project (WFP) 2027: how the season works
In 2027 the World Fitness Project (WFP) builds its season around the World Fitness Series: 10 qualifying events on 4 continents, from 16 April to 7 November, that award spots to the World Fitness Championship. Pro Individual has 26 spots per gender (52 in total). The Championship venue and date are to be confirmed.

The season in a few lines
WFP frames 2027 as a season with one goal: reach the World Fitness Championship. To get there you compete at one of the Series’ 10 events and earn a spot in your division.
Three things are clear for now: which events they are, when they take place and how many spots each awards. Still to be published are the Championship’s place and date, how spots are split inside each event and the detailed 2027 rules.

How 2026 worked and what changes in 2027
In 2026 the season was a straight line: three online qualifiers, two in-person Tour Stops and a Finals. In 2027 it becomes a network of independent events, each with its own registration and rulebook, that award spots to a single Championship.
| 2026 | 2027 | |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | 3 online qualifiers, 2 Tour Stops and the World Fitness Finals | World Fitness Series (10 events) and World Fitness Championship |

| Pro field at the final event | 30 men and 30 women, the top points earners across the two Tour Stops | 26 spots per gender (52 in total), spread across the 10 events |

What’s new and why it matters
- More events, closer to home. You go from two in-person stops to ten, across Europe, North America, South America and Oceania. An athlete no longer has to fly to the US to have a shot at the final: there are four European events (Athens, Naples, Barcelona and Oslo).
- Partner events, not WFP events. No stop is organised directly by WFP: each is a competition with its own organiser, website and community. UBL, for instance, calls itself an “official WFP partner event”, and the Atlantic Coast Classic says it “joins WFP in 2027”. WFP already worked this way in 2026 with three partner competitions (Athens, Monster Games and Oslo), whose division winners were invited to the Finals; in 2027 that model is the backbone of the season.
- More divisions with qualifying spots. Beyond Pro there are now specific pathways for Masters, Pairs (including a Masters 35+ category with combined ages of 75 or more), teams of four and Next Gen.
- A Championship as the goal. The World Fitness Championship brings together the qualifiers from across the season. Where and when has not been published.
The 10 stops at a glance
Dates are local. Spots are the ones WFP publishes per event (“qualifying spots across N divisions”). They are not a count of athletes: each division counts once, with men and women together, and how spots are split by gender is set by each event’s rulebook.
WFP itself does not publish registration dates for the Series. The ones shown on this page are each organiser’s own: Athens Throwdown on 14 November 2026, The Monster Games on 1 December 2026 and the Atlantic Coast Classic on 1 March 2027.

Athens Throwdown (Athens)
16-18 April 2027 · Tae Kwon Do Stadium, Athens. The first stop, and the one with the most detail published. Individual and team registration opens on 14 November 2026 at 12:00 (Greek time) and closes on 10 January 2027 at 23:59.
Individuals first compete in an online qualifier: two workouts announced on 11 January at 09:00 (Greek time), with scores due by 26 January at 23:59; you can repeat them as many times as you like until the deadline. The best 640 individuals are invited to the final. Teams have no qualifier: they go straight to the final.
Elite individual awards 3 Championship spots. Event prize money: up to €64,800 in total for the whole event, across all divisions. In Elite individual (men and women) first place receives €10,000 if 100 or more athletes enter the online qualifier (€5,000 if 1 to 99), second €3,000, third €1,500, fourth €750 and fifth €500.
UBL | The Italian Championship (Naples)
25-27 June 2027 · Mostra d’Oltremare, Naples. UBL presents itself as Italy’s largest competition and says athletes from 59 countries took part in its 2026 edition. The Naples online qualifier runs from 15 February to 15 March 2027 and the live final from 25 to 27 June. Championship spots are: Elite individual, 3; Masters, at least 1; and Under 21, at least 1 (at least 5 in total). Turin is a separate UBL event and is not part of the Series.
Atlantic Coast Classic (Daytona Beach)
2-4 July 2027 · Daytona Beach, Florida. One of the season’s newcomers: the competition announces that in 2027 it becomes part of WFP. Registration opens on 1 March 2027. The specific venue is to be confirmed.
The Monster Games (Overland Park)
23-25 July 2027 · Overland Park Convention Center, Kansas. Registration for the online qualifier opens on 1 December 2026 and scores are submitted from 28 January to 10 February 2027, with four to five workouts. The top athletes in each division receive an invitation to the in-person championship. The event has individual Elite, Rx, Intermediate and Masters divisions (35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54 and 55+) and teams of two.
Fitland Fitness Festival (Bogotá)
14-16 August 2027 · Bogotá. WFP publishes dates, city, 6 spots and 6 divisions. The festival’s own website still shows the 2026 edition, so 2027 registration and the qualifier calendar are to be confirmed.
TCB (São Paulo)
4-7 September 2027 · São Paulo. WFP publishes 7 spots across 5 divisions. The event’s website still shows its 2026 edition, so its 2027 calendar and registration are to be confirmed.
Wodcelona (Barcelona)
10-12 September 2027 · Barcelona. The only stop in Spain: 4 spots across 2 divisions. Wodcelona describes itself as an inclusive competition with categories by age, level and format, some of them adaptive. Its website still shows the 2026 edition, so registration, the qualifier calendar and the two divisions that award spots are to be confirmed.
Down Under Championship (Wollongong)
24-26 September 2027 · Wollongong, Australia. WFP publishes 10 spots across 8 divisions. Only the September 2027 edition is part of the Series: the November 2026 one, which the organisers run “in partnership” with WFP, is not on the list. 2027 registration is to be confirmed.
Oslo Throwdown (Oslo)
15-17 October 2027 · Oslo. The stop with the most published spots: 11 across 9 divisions, 3 of them in Elite individual. It is organised by WODLA GROUP AS and the 2027 listing places the event at Unity Arena (Fornebu). The 2027 registration opening date is to be confirmed.
Desert City Classic (Scottsdale)
5-7 November 2027 · Scottsdale, Arizona. It closes the Series with 7 spots across 5 divisions. Its website shows the 2026 edition and not 2027, so registration and details are to be confirmed.

From an event to the Championship, step by step
The process differs at each event, but the general outline is:
Pick the event and the division that fit your level and your calendar.
Read the event rulebook: divisions shown in bold are the ones that award Championship spots.
Register within the event’s window. Many events start with an online qualifier.
Compete in the qualifier (if there is one) and, if you make it, at the in-person event.
If you finish in one of the spot-awarding positions in your division, you qualify for the World Fitness Championship.
How your score is validated: each stop sets its own rules
Each stop sets its own rules. Athens Throwdown, the only stop with a published 2027 rulebook, has individual athletes film their qualifier workouts and upload public YouTube videos, which its own judging team reviews; the link is submitted through Circle21 along with the score. How scores are validated at the other nine stops is to be confirmed.
The rule about a video WFP can validate, or a workout done at a Fitness Project gym and validated by the gym owner, belongs to WFP’s separate online league, the Rec League, and does not apply to the Series stops. WFP’s 2026 rulebook asked for video of every online qualifier workout, in one shot.
Money and Pro Cards
WFP has not published a global prize purse for 2027. For reference, in 2026 it paid out US$1,966,000 in total: US$207,000 per Pro division at each Tour Stop and US$569,000 per Pro division at the Finals. Each Series event announces its own prizes; Athens Throwdown is the only one to have done so (up to €64,800 in total for the whole event).
As for Pro Cards, in 2026 they were offered to the top 20 men and top 20 women on points, and the 2027 ones were decided at the Copenhagen Finals. How 2027 Pro Cards fit the new format is to be confirmed.
