2027 CrossFit Games divisions

The 2027 CrossFit Games season has four paths depending on your division: Individual, Teams, Age Group (Teenagers and Masters) and Adaptive. They all start in the same place, the Open, which is the first stage of the Games and not a separate competition. This page explains which divisions there are, who enters each and how each advances to the Games, with a quick guide to find where you fit.

The idea in a minute

Everyone registers for the Open, from 7 January 2027. There the system places you in a division based on your age, your sex and what you choose: individual, team or Adaptive. From then on each division has its own path. There is one calendar of dates and cuts, but each path filters differently. In 2027 there are novelties: a new Teenager division (18-19), eight Masters groups (up to 70+), teams with no online qualifier and the National Championships.

What changes in 2027

  • A new Teenager division, 18-19. It joins 14-15 and 16-17.
  • Masters in eight groups, from 35-39 to 70+, with cuts of 400 and 300 into the Semifinals.
  • The individual Games go from 30 to 40 men and women.
  • Teams: in-person Team Qualifiers only. The online qualifier is gone and one gym can take more than one team to the Games.
  • National Championships. They are new, for individuals only and with the country’s citizenship.
  • Adaptive. Spots per division and sex will depend on Open registrations.
  • Open: workouts are released on Wednesdays (in 2026 they came out on Thursdays).

What is still to be confirmed

  • The 2027 rulebook, which CrossFit hasn’t published yet.
  • The cutoff date for calculating age. In 2026 it was 14 July.
  • Which ages qualify for Individual, and which age groups (“select age groups”) share the Individual workouts. Competing in both Individual and your age group is confirmed, at least in the Quarterfinals, with a single registration fee.
  • Registration fees.
  • The start of the individual Online Semifinal (14 or 17 June), because the two CrossFit pages that publish it disagree.
  • Venue and dates for the Games and the Masters, Teenagers and Adaptive finals.
  • The list of in-person Semifinals and Team Qualifiers.
