How to qualify for the 2027 CrossFit Games
To reach the 2027 Games as an individual you pass four stages: the Open (top 25% worldwide), the Quarterfinals (top 2,000 per sex), a Semifinal (top 3 at each) and the Games (40 men and 40 women). Teams, age groups and Adaptive athletes follow their own paths.
The short answer
If you are an individual: Open → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Games. Each stage has a cut-off. Stay inside it and you move on; fall outside and your season ends there (although there are other routes, such as the National Championships).
Important: nobody qualifies from a single test. Scores reset at each stage, so every stage is a new competition.

What to do from today
A simple plan for anyone who wants to compete in 2027:
Create your CrossFit account if you don’t have one. In 2026 a single account covered every competition in the season.
Find an affiliate where you can do the workouts, with a judge or a camera.
Mark 7 January: Open registration opens.
Plan your week: workouts drop on Wednesday and scores are due at the latest on Monday at 17:00 PT.
If you are aiming for the Quarterfinals, line up a registered judge and an affiliate, and clear the week of 15 March.

Frequently asked questions
What is the individual path to the 2027 Games?
Open (top 25% worldwide), Quarterfinals (top 2,000 per sex), Semifinals (top 3 at each) and Games (40 men and 40 women).
Can I qualify without doing the Open?
No. Every path in the season starts in the Open (or the Adaptive Open for Adaptive athletes).
How many places are there at the Games? To be confirmed
40 men and 40 women in the individual division. For teams and the age-group and Adaptive finals, to be confirmed.
What if I finish 5th at a Semifinal?
You don’t qualify from that Semifinal, but you can try another, as long as you have not used up your two in-person events and the Online Semifinals.
Do teams do the Quarterfinals?
No. Teams go from the Open to the in-person Team Qualifiers.
Do points carry over from one stage to the next?To be confirmed
No. In 2026 standings reset at each stage and that is expected in 2027, although the new rulebook is not yet out.
When is the 2027 rulebook published? To be confirmed
To be confirmed. The 2026 rulebook is the reference for now.
Where will the Games take place? To be confirmed
Venue and dates to be confirmed.
Can I be my country’s champion without going to the Games?
Yes. The National Championships are a parallel path: Open, Quarterfinals and a national event.
