CrossFit Semifinals 2027

The Semifinals are the last qualifying stage of the CrossFit Games season. The top 2,000 men and top 2,000 women from the Quarterfinals compete at in-person events from April to June or in the Online Semifinals, which close on 21 June (the individual one starts in mid-June: 14 or 17 June, to be confirmed). The top three at each Semifinal go to the Games.

What they are, plainly

This is where Games spots are decided. Instead of one single event, CrossFit spreads qualification across several: top-tier in-person competitions around the world, recognised as official qualifiers, plus an Online Semifinals that works as a last chance.

The aim is more places and more time to qualify. An athlete in Europe doesn’t have to cross the Atlantic if a recognised event is within reach.

Who gets in

The top 2,000 men and top 2,000 women from the Quarterfinals. Age groups have their own quotas: 300 per Teenager division, 400 in Masters 35-54 and 300 in Masters 55+. Teams don’t go through here: they have their own in-person Team Qualifiers. Adaptive athletes compete in their own online Semifinals, 13 to 18 May, with the top 20 in each division from the Adaptive Open.

Two ways to compete

In-person events (April to June). These are competitions run by third parties that CrossFit recognises as official Semifinals. The event list, venues and dates are to be confirmed. You can accept invitations to two of them at most.

Online Semifinals (individual, until 21 June; start 14 or 17 June, to be confirmed). They take place after the in-person events, so they are the final chance. You can enter them on top of your two in-person events. Teenagers qualify only through the age-group Online Semifinals (24 to 28 June); Masters can go to in-person events or online.

How you reach the Games

At every Semifinal, online included, the top three men and top three women earn a Games spot. There are 40 spots per sex in total, so the exact split between events will be known once the list is published.

A 2026 rule, in case it repeats in 2027 (to be confirmed): if an athlete qualifies at several competitions, they keep the invitation from the first one they qualified at, and their place at the others passes to the next athlete in the standings.

How it worked in 2026 (reference)

So you know what to expect, this is what the Online Semifinals required in 2026; the 2027 rulebook is not out yet:

  • Doing the workouts at an affiliate with a Head Judge (CF-L1 credential plus the Advanced Judges Course) and a second floor judge.
  • Uploading a public YouTube video of every workout along with the score.
  • Public review: for a few days, accredited judges could vote “good video”, “needs review” or “unviewable”.
  • A US$100 registration fee.
