2027 CrossFit Games FAQ

They are two different leagues. The CrossFit Games are CrossFit’s official season (Open, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Games), with Individual, Teams, age group and Adaptive divisions. The World Fitness Project is an independent league that in 2027 moves to a Series of 10 events and its own Championship.

No. It is the first stage of the Games season and the entry point for every division.

No published rule prevents it: they have independent calendars and rules. The Open runs in February and March and World Fitness Project stops from April to November. Eligibility is set by each event’s rulebook.

On Wednesdays 17 February, 24 February and 3 March at 20:00 UTC. You have until Monday at 5 p.m. PT to do it and submit your score.

To be confirmed. In 2026 it cost $20 in most countries, and $15 in some regions.

Yes: at an affiliate or at a home gym. For the Quarterfinals and the Online Semifinals you must do it at an affiliate.

If you do it at an affiliate with a judge, no video is needed; if you are not at one, a public YouTube video (2026). The 2027 rules are to be confirmed.

Rx’d, Scaled and Foundations, within your division.

Eleven: Teenagers 14-15, 16-17 and 18-19 (new) and Masters 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+.

In Masters 40-44. The 2027 age cutoff date is to be confirmed, so check your birth year when it is published.

In Teenagers: 14-15, 16-17 or 18-19. They compete only in the Online Semifinal and then in the Teenage CrossFit Games, run by Pit Prodigies. Venue, dates and spots are to be confirmed.

Yes: 16 divisions. You must be functionally classified through WheelWOD and do the Adaptive Open with video and score; the top 20 in each division move on to the Online Semifinal, 13 to 18 May.

The top 25% worldwide in each division.

15 to 22 March 2027, at an affiliate. Registration opens on 15 March.

Individual: 2,000 men and 2,000 women. Masters 35-54: 400 per group. Masters 55+: 300 per group. Teenagers: 300 per group.

40 men and 40 women in Individual, the top three at each Semifinal. Teams, Masters, Teenagers and Adaptive: spots to be confirmed.

Up to two, plus the online one.

It is not published for 2027. In 2026 you kept the invitation from the first event where you qualified and the spot at the others passed to the next athlete.

The list of events is to be confirmed. They will run from April to June at partner organisers’ events.

It is formed during the Open (at least two men and two women, all with a valid score in the three workouts), competes in one or more in-person Team Qualifiers (22 March to 13 June) and the best in the global ranking go to the Games. There is no online qualifier.

Yes, in 2027, if they qualify high enough in the global ranking. In 2026 it could bring only one.

Open, Quarterfinals and your country’s national event. A country’s top 10 in the Quarterfinals get in directly. It is for Individual only and with the country’s citizenship. If there is no event, the title goes to the country’s best in the Open or the Quarterfinals.

No. Only the Individual men and women divisions count.

Yes. The Semifinals and Games are not part of the national season.

Magic City Games organises it, in Birmingham (Alabama). Dates are to be confirmed.

By birth date, assigned automatically when you register. The 2027 cutoff date is not published; in 2026 it was 14 July. Lying about your birth date meant a one-year ban in 2026.

Yes, in 2027 it is required for Individual and Teams. CrossFit says the standards will be published in December.

In 2026, no: payments were final, with no refunds or transfers. For 2027 it is to be confirmed.

CrossFit puts it at around 0.10% of Open participants.
